FAQ
Infants
We have two highly experienced qualified teachers working with our youngest children. They work together to ensure that your child’s individual needs are met in relation to care, nutrition and play.
We encourage our families to have at least one week of transitioning visits where our team can start to build a relationship with your infant. During this time we learn your infants schedule, interests and needs.
In the morning our infant teachers are often in the main room waiting for your arrival, though at times you will fins them in our designated ‘safe space’ where our older children require an invitation to enter, keeping our youngest members of the centre safe.
Toddlers
Our toddlers transition to our Preschool teaching team when they are emotionally and physically ready. Being a mixed age centre this is something that occurs naturally without having to physically move rooms unlike centres with separate age groups.
Preschool
Te Whāriki, our New Zealand Early Childhood curriculum underpins all learning within our centre. This is complimented by the addition of the Catholic Early Childhood curriculum and our Faith Based programme.
Our teachers will support whānau with their toilet training when the child is developmentally ready.
Those who require a daily sleep will be supported to do so in our sleeproom, with soft music and any cuddlys or sleep aids (soft toys, sleep sacks) that they use at home.
We have an online portfolio and communication programme called Kebudel which keeps families advised of general news and you will also find your child’s individual learning journey documented here.
